This sites’ intention is to give you the knowledge to take your power back from all institutions. After many years of fighting these institutions I am so confident in what I have done that they now leave me alone.
What I found is that if you treat it as a game then you will no longer be held in fear. In fact the people you will deal with will start fearing you.
I will keep things simple and easy to follow. Before we start our new journey together I will start by giving advice on how to control what you say and do.
My pet hate is banks and financial institutions who will use any means possible including fraud to depart you from your hard earned. I hope I can put you on the road to a life free from fear.
My knowledge comes from ‘having a go’ and various web sites. Some of these sites moved away from keeping it simple to being run by huge ego’s and making things more complicated than what they should be.
OK LET’S START OUR JOURNEY AND HAVING FUN.
The very first thing you must do is open a new bank account ( a free one if you can ). Yes that’s right a new bank account. This new account should be free from complications where you don’t want access to things like overdrafts, loans etc… This account should be with a bank you have never used before. Once you have such an account pay everything you earn or have saved into it ( do not transfer any standing orders or direct debits to this account ). Do not be tempted to take out any loans etc… because your new bank will be wanting you to do so, especially if you have a healthy balance. Never give this bank any details of any loans etc…. as they will want you to transfer them to your new account if you did what would be difference between your old account and the new one?- NONE ! Once your new account is in place you are ready to fight back.
The first thing I did was to shut my old bank account and cancel the direct debits and standing orders that were in it. Already I’m in control of my money not the bank. The only direct debits I transferred from my old account was for gas and electricity, that was it.
Important : NEVER BORROW MONEY TO PAY OFF DEBTS. It will cost you more in the long run.
Once I had reached this stage it wasn’t long before the people who were being paid through my old account realized that they weren’t being paid anymore. This is when it became a battle of wits between me and them. Everyone of them treated me with contempt and thought I was an idiot and that I didn’t know what I was doing. They soon realized I was on to their ‘scams’ and tried to get their grubby little claws back into me. I will go into specific details later on but suffice to say now that I was determined to take them on at their own game.
BE ORGANISED
For each ‘debt’ you must keep records between you and them. The reason for this is because you will forget a lot ( especially if you are dealing with more than one debt )
What I did was save everything on my computer and print it off as well. I then got some cardboard files from my local stationers so each debt could be dealt with separately. On the front of the file I put the name of the original ‘debtor’ and the account number. All correspondence between me and that ‘debtor’ was now separate from all the rest. I did this with each of the debts I had and it made everything so much simpler.
It is very important to do this because when they try putting you in fear you will be very clear on what your doing and how to turn the tables on them. I have had up to seven or eight different companies chasing me for the same debt. All their names and their reference numbers are on the front of my files as well. The reason for this is for easy recognition of who I am dealing with. Some of the people that try to get money from me under the name of different companies are actually from the same company. They don’t want to hire someone else to chase you because they want to make money not spend money.
KEEPING RECORDS
Inside my files is all the correspondence I’ve received and sent. It is by way of dates sent and received. I also have a list of contents, all this is very good at saving me time. I cannot stress the importance of keeping the best records you can and keeping them up to date.
WHAT TO EXPECT
You will start getting letters reminding you that they think you owe them money they will be quite friendly at first but they will soon deteriorate into threats including sending in bailiffs and court action ( neither of which has happened to me ) These letters will look like official letters the wording will be confrontational and are designed to put you into panicking to make a deal, There will be lots of bold red writing and the threat of added costs. They will stop at nothing to get your compliance. Don’t fall for it.
When they realize they are not going get any money from you they do not take court action because that’s expensive and they know they can lose so are not willing to take the chance. What happens is they cut their losses and sell your debt on to a collection company. The collection company usually pays about ten pence on the pound for your account. Believe it or not this is good news. Once your debt is sold on it is cleared with the original debtor. So your account is now paid off with the original debtor. The new company will have you believe you owe them the whole of the original debt, this new company will stop at nothing to put the pressure on you to pay.
It’s important to know you owe them nothing as far as you’re concerned they are just an interloper. You don’t even owe them the money they paid for your account.
It is important to know that there are different ways to pay debts other than with cash. Companies do not want to accept these other ways and are willing to commit fraud rather than accepting them. But that’s for later.
Another thing that is important to know for when we start getting into the nitty gritty an agreement is NOT a contract. We will deal with this when the time comes.
It is also important to know that the law works for both sides and not just them. There are many laws we can use the details of which I will go into when necessary.
TEMPLATE LETTERS
My way of dealing with collection companies was through issuing three letters ten days apart between them. This was then followed up with a NOTICE of ESTOPPEL. After this process was completed the company I was dealing with usually stopped chasing me. Remember I said earlier that collection companies are sometimes just another branch of the original debtor it’s at this stage we can usually find out.
In the letters we state that we will pay anything we LAWFULLY owe. We don’t lawfully owe anything.
It is important to know the difference between a contract and an agreement.
A contract is a list of terms and conditions signed by both parties ( the company and yourself ) thus binding both parties to the full terms and conditions of the said contract. Both parties are legally bound by it.
An agreement is not a contract. Collection companies will have you believe it is. Look at any agreement you have. I’ll wager the only signature on it is yours. So if there is only your signature on it who have you made the agreement with? That’s right yourself. Some companies when you sign the agreement include a box with a name in it. This name is only there to try and fool you that they have a contract with you. It is always a printed name and in a box. It has no bearing whatsoever on the agreement. As you only have an agreement with yourself you will never sue yourself so you are in control of it.
LOANS AND CREDIT
Do you know where the money comes from when you get a loan or credit? No. The bank? The credit card company? The institution your dealing with? The answer is yourself. Therefore your agreement is effectavley a bank note or cash or money. You cannot get any funds without an agreement.
When you get your agreement you only get photo copy of it. The original is sold on for ten times the face value, that money is yours but you can never get it ( another scam ).This money is used to draw in the next round of loanees and so the scam goes on and on. This is how financial institutions become extremely rich. That’s why I think of them as leeches.
